I always knew it deep inside, but a bigger, higher force (also called “Ego”) drove me in another direction. After 5 years of studying Business, Culture and Languages I graduated and started to work in the high stress, high pressure world of Management Consultancy. After six years, I knew I had to change my life. From December 2007 to February 2008 I went to India submerging myself in intensive courses for Yoga Teaching, Massage and Ayurveda. In March 2008 I moved my life to Spain and began my new path. It so far has been an incredible road of discovery and a fulfilling and enlightening experience.

My Philosophy

“A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”

This saying expresses what I want to transmit to people. The most important thing is that your mind is calm and that you are not controlled by emotions and thoughts. You can eat healthy, do every day yoga and meditation, but if you don´t know how to handle your thoughts, all the other things won’t really help in the long run. Thoughts and emotions have such strong effects that most of the illnesses come from the mind. Therefore I see a healthy diet, yoga, meditation, massage etc. as bridges that help you to reach a state of a calm mind being able to recognize yourself.

YOGA

About Hatha Yoga

The Yoga Class is a combination of Asanas (Postures), Breathing Exercises, Relaxations, Energy Exercises and Self Knowledge. My aim is that also each class will be a spiritual experience for you.

The Basis of the class is Hatha Yoga, a traditional Yoga Style from India. The word Hatha means “strong”. The Class is based on the Rishikesh sequence, which consists of 12 basic
Asanas (Yoga Postures) with Variations, set up by the famous Indian Swami Sivananda.

The 12 Basic Asanas

• Shirsana - Kopfstand
• Sarvangasana - Schulterstand
• Halasana – Plug
• Matsyasana – Fisch
• Paschimothansa – Vorwärtsbeuge
• Bhujangasana – Kobra
• Salabhasana – Heuschrecke
• Dhanurasana – Bogen
• Ardha Matsyendrsana – Halber Drehsitz
• Kakasana - Krähe oder Mayurasana - Pfau
• Pada Hastasana – Stehende Vorwärtsbeuge
• Trikonsasa – Dreieck

More Information under www.yogasamvit.de

The Effects of Yoga

“The Body is as flexible as it is young”

The Asanas and Breathing exercises help to strengthen your muscles, joints and inner organs in gentle and yet powerful way. They help to build up new energy in your body. It relaxes and balances your body and helps to be in one with body and mind.

Prices

Yoga class (1,5 hours):
• Individual Class 20 Euro
• As of 2 persons 10 Euro per person

Important: Don’t eat 2 hours before the class.

AYURVEDIC MASSAGE

This Massage is a deep, sensitive, but yet relaxing Ayurvedic Massage done with Sesame Oil, Calamus Powder and Yoga Stretches.

Effects of the massage:
- Increases the body's vital energy (prana) flow from feet to head and can help you to release emotional blockades.
- The powder warms up the muscles and allows going deeper into the tissues.
- It can help to bring relief to the back, neck or knee pain.
- The oil and powder supports the body to release impurities and toxins and exfoliates the skin.
- The Yoga Stretches help to open the joints.

Prices
- Full Body (60 min.) - 40 Euro
- Back, Neck. Don’t plan any strengthening activities on that day.

MEDITATION

Meditation and Self Knowledge are the most important principles of the Yoga Philosophy. One can excel in all the other principles, but if one does not know oneself, the rest is of little importance.

Meditation is not something mystical, out of this world. It is something very down to earth, something in the present, in the here and now. Meditation is an exercise to calm the mind and improve concentration, in effort to reach the supreme objective of Yoga which is; personal realization, the state of being one with the universe and the Absolute.

The objective of meditation is to learn how to handle the thought process so that thoughts become suggestions and not orders. Learn how to observe your mind without being involved in your thoughts.

To do this you have to be present and conscious in each moment of your life. If you are not conscious, your thoughts will control you. Therefore meditation is actually not a practice, but a life attitude. If you can control your thoughts you will learn to know yourself and will feel free from the inside.

Meditation is on the basis on donation (give what you can)

AYURVEDIC DIET WORKSHOPS

About Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the oldest conveyed medical sciences which first has been documented the first time 5000 years ago. Ayurveda is an holistic and preventive science of life and hence always sees the wellbeing of the individual in context with body, mind and soul. This includes the following therapies: Spiritual (meditation and positive thinking), Physical (Yoga), Medical (natural medication, body treatments) and Diet (individual eating and cooking recommendations).
About this Workshop - “You are what you eat”

In the workshop we will focus on the Ayurvedic Diet and Cooking. In contrast to western diet principles which propose a similar diet for all, the Ayurvedic diet prescribes a diet based on the individual’s character, physique and circumstances of life aiming to strengthen body, mind and soul. In this context, not only the ingredients and quality of the diet are important, but also the eating and cooking habits.

In this workshop you will learn about the individual constitution, about the six tastes, the stimulation of the digestive fire, purification measures, general eating guidelines (when to eat what) and basics of the Ayurvedic cooking (spices and ingredients). You will also learn how to prepare special Ayurvedic dishes like vegetable curry, lentils, raita, halwa, chutneys, fried brown rice, naan, banana pancakes and special teas (ginger and chai tea and digestive drinks). We will finish the workshop with a joint meal.

Date
Saturday, 24th of October 2009 – 10 am to around 4 pm

Price
45 Euro including manual, food and drinks (50% to be paid in advance to secure reservation)

Location
Annie´s House, Vina / San Filmo II, 11150 Vejer de la Frontera, Spain

Also ask for upcoming workshops and individual consultation in combination with Yoga or Massages!

PACKAGES

Book a Package of Yoga, Massage and Meditation:
Private Yoga Class with Meditation (1,5h) and Fully Body Massage (60 min.)
• 1 Day: 55 €
• 2 Days: 105 €
• 3 Days: 155 €

Fully Body Massage (60 min.)
• 1 Massage: 40 €
• As of 3 Massages, 35 € per Massage.

CONTACT

Birgit: +34-622346022
Email: puravida.andalucia@yahoo.com
